This lovely litter arrived on July 2 in the afternoon in a rather unusual location - the hammock in the maternity cage. I normally have the hammock in there as a place for mom to relax away from her hungry little ones for a while, but Tarot felt it made an excellent maternity cocoon after she tore down one corner of it and fashioned a sort of tent from it. After the babies were nearly a week old and starting to become more active, I moved them down to the floor of the cage where they wouldn't be able to fall and conk their heads quite so easily. Tarot is a very attentive, if slightly protective, mother, though she's mellowing as the babies age and become a bit more independent. It's so much fun to watch the babies coats develop as they age, so I've included pics of them at one week and then again at 2.5 weeks of age.
