Sophie was the enforcer in her cage, even after two surgeries and a battle with cancer that spread to her lungs. She was definitely the classic alpha girl type with the other rats, but was a very people affectionate, particularly when bribed with food. Soph did like to have her own way, but was a fantastic patient right up to the end. A little bit of naughty Miss Sophie (often called Nophie or Snophie as it was just easier than saying "No, Sophie!) lives on via her great grand-niece and nephew, RSCL Artemesia and RSCL Joachim, who are every bit as impertinent as their great aunt, though decidedly healthier thus far.
