Pegeen comes to us out of tragedy. Her mother's second litter went disastrously wrong in delivery, resulting in everyone dying, including beautiful Panda. This tragedy, among others, caused her owner Lizzy to decide to stop breeding rats. Because I'd been on the waiting list for a colorpoint girl from that sad litter, Lizzy asked if I'd like to have Pegeen from Panda's first litter. It was terribly hard for Lizzy to part with her but I'm so glad she sent her to live with me. Pegeen is one of the most beautiful girls we've ever had here. She's just the picture of grace and loveliness, from her big satellite dish ears, to her bright cherry red eyes, to her softly tinted pink and gray paws. I am totally smitten with this lovely little doe. As she's always busily pushing her way to the front of the cage when I show up with a camera, I have yet to capture her regal beauty - mostly I get clown shots as she hams it up with the other wild young girls in that cage. But hopefully you can see her fabulous spirit shining out in these snaps.
