Min and Matisse became parents on October 16. Min knew I'd been nervous and hovering, so, of course, gave birth the second I left for work. She did a fabulous job with delivery and is doing an even better one with nursing and care. At first, I suspected the runty one of the seven had perished, but found him tucked into one corner of the bedding several days later, fat, well fed and just as big as his siblings. I love it when I'm wrong like that. All babies will be dumbo and some of the curlies will be rex and some double rex, which means they'll have a short coat that is bald in patches akin to a poodle that has been to the groomer. More photos will follow as they age and grow in their fur and I have a better idea of who is rex and who is double. The "triamese" are an unstandardized mismarked colorpoint - basically a siamese with extra dark markings or extra white. It's hard to say for sure if the markings will stay through adolesence or fade out as I've seen both happen. The markings faded out to white on their close cousin ZRR PeiPei but stayed very dark on maternal grandpa CWR Savio, so it's tough to predict. These wee ones should be able to go to new homes after November 21. Everyone has been named after funky candies - thus far they are all turning out to be just as sweet as their namesake treats!
