RSCL Kekona - Hawaiian, meaning "Second Born"

Kekona is the granddaugther of my favorite ratty of all time, RSCL Keoki and is nearly his double in color and marking. The resemblance was so uncanny, that we knew she had to be with us, following in her grandpa's sizeable footsteps. We picked our princess up at the March RatsPacNW show and, not only did she charm the socks off Wil and I immediately, she also went on take home a blue ribbon in her kitten class and walk away with the trophy for Prettiest Pet Rat! We love this sweet little girl and our only sorrow is that she's not suitable for breeding to carry on her loveliness. She has three siblings with the genetic disorder megacolon and would be likely to pass it on herself to the next generation. So Kekona will have to be an auntie instead to the offspring of her cousins and friends. She will, however, forever bear the title of "Princess of the Shoulder."
