Black Downunder

Sweet Joey was our very first downunder and we really enjoyed our little Aussie man. He had a very pleasant personality and, though he lived up to the DU rep for being active, he was also really interested in hanging with people and in playing nicely with his cagemates. His antics never ceased to amuse and he was always amazingly friendly and laid back when introduced to other rats. He had a neat chocolatey glow to his fur thanks, perhaps, to his funky aussie mink genes. He also sported a cool white "kiss target" on top of his head, which added to his charm. Joey came to us from Connie Perez of Rat Genes in San Francisco.

Joey (right) and his brother who lived with Michelle of Curly Whiskers, share a drink.
Joey and buddy Gordon ham it up for the camera.

Ok, so it's not the greatest photo of his tummy, but I had no assistant and he was in a wiggly mood having been out for a frolic on the futon with Gordo. Joey did decide that the camera lacked an interesting flavor after giving the case a nibble, though, and returned to gnawing on his dangling chompler chew toy.
