Mink
Esso is the sole survivor of his litter of 9. Poor Velma had to be rushed into emergency surgery when she failed to deliver the placentas. Five babies survived initially and were fostered onto ROUS Rivka at Ratty Rascals Rattery. Unfortunately, most of them were already too weak and only little Esso managed to survive. When Sharona delivered her litter a few days later and showed us how well she was doing with them, I motored back to Port Orchard to retrieve Esso so he could be fostered by Sharona, whose babies were much closer to Esso's own age than Rivka's were. It's been a match made in heaven and Esso is thriving with Sharona and her kiddos. I'm tickled pink that he made it this far and look forward to watching him grow as large and robust as his parents. Happily, his mother is doing just fine post-surgery and has made a full recovery from her emergency hysterectomy. All in all, as happy an ending as I could have hoped for from a very scary situation.
