Beautiful Elspeth gave birth to a litter of twelve utterly perfect pinkies on the afternoon of August 2 - four boys and eight girls! Since there just aren't as many ladies of the blues who I haven't already named past girls after, we're going with a new naming theme - donuts!! No, donuts have nothing to do with New Orleans jazz and blues, there just happen to be a dozen little ratty donuts in this litter. I did name one Beignet if that helps? Another donut similarity is that these guys are all quite cream filled thanks to super momma Elspeth who takes wonderful care of her babies and stuffs them full of milk. Elspeth was always quite beloved, but she's been so much fun as a mom rat that we've bonded even more over the course of her motherhood. I could not ask for a sweeter, funnier mother than Miss Pthhh (her nickname.)
